Graphic Communication Awards

ADDY Awards

The ADDY Student Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association conducts the ADDY Student Awards through its 200 members advertising clubs and 15 districts. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry.

EDSF Awards

EDSF Excellence in Education Awards honor institutions that deliver innovative approaches to document communication education and training in areas of document preparation, production, and/or distribution including graphic communication, graphic arts, imaging science, printing, web authoring, or electronic publishing.

The International Design Art Awards is an integrated exhibition program presenting both printed and new media art. It is an alternative, planet-wide forum for digital artists and a dedicated program within a fine art context, rather than a prescribed industrial and/or academic platform of events.

IGAEA Awards

The IGAEA offers several awards each year to honor Graphic Communication educators and those who have made outstanding contributions to the Graphic Communication education community. These awards include the: Frederick D. Kagy Award, Fred J. Hartman Award, Earl I. Sundeen Award, and the Gutenberg Award. In addition, the IGAEA provides a nomination for the PIA/GATF Education Award of Excellence each year.

The SkillsUSA Championships

The SkillsUSA Championships is the showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels.

This is a multi-million dollar event that occupies a space equivalent to 16 football fields. In 2007, there are over 5,000 contestants in 87 separate events. Nearly 1,500 judges and contest organizers from labor and management will make the national event possible.

The philosophy of the Championships is to reward students for excellence, to involve industry in directly evaluating student performance and to keep training relevant to employers' needs.
