	GATF and EDSF Call For Nominations Looking for ways to increase your program's visibility or recognize a superior educator? Both the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) and the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) are now accepting nominations or their respective education awards. GATF Awards- Deadline (5/30/03) GATF Education Awards of Excellence honors one industry representative and one graphic arts educator who have each made outstanding contributions to graphic arts education and training. Kagy Education Award of Excellence honors a superior graphic communications program at the junior high, high school, or community college level that is staffed by a GATF teacher member. EDSF Excellence in Education and Educator of the Year Awards - Deadline (5/30/03) Overview Presented annually, the EDSF Education Awards honor worldwide academic institutions, professional organizations and individuals for their educational and innovative efforts relating to the document communication industry and includes graphic media. Recipients address industry issues, reflect state-of-the art technology and benefit the industry through their programs. Excellence in Education Awards The Excellence in Education Awards honor innovative approaches to document communication education and training. Recognition is given to institutions that deliver programs in the areas of document preparation, production, and/or distribution including graphic communication, graphic arts, imaging science, printing, web authoring, or electronic publishing. Each winning recipient will be presented with a plaque and honored at the EDSF Board of Directors Reception during Xplor 2003. In addition to recognizing these outstanding educational programs, EDSF communicates the availability of these resources to those who have a career interest in document communications. The award categories include: •Innovation in Higher Education •Innovation in Continuing Education •Innovation in Distance Education and Training •Innovation in Professional Growth and Development Seminars •Innovation in Secondary/Post Secondary Education Educator of the Year Award EDSF is seeking enthusiastic and innovative educators. EDSF recognizes educators at all academic levels who are dedicated to the advancement of our industry through innovation and excellence in education. These individuals have made outstanding contributions to educational efforts in the document communication industry. Such individuals demonstrate leadership, motivation and professionalism. Nominees are sought from throughout the world.
