EDTE 3464

This course focuses on energy sources, conversion of energy to power, power transmission, energy control, and transportation systems utilizing various power sources.

General Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the taxonomy of energy & power and transportation as areas of study in technology education.

  • Describe the fundamental of land, air, water, and space transportations.

  • Design, build, and test various transportation prototypes, using fundamental principles.

  • Describe the principles behind magnetic levitation, land transportation systems.

  • Describe the basic sources of energy (solar, nuclear, wind, tidal, chemical, geothermal, fossil fuel combustion).

  • Design and build a device powered by one of the alternate energy sources (solar, geothermal, wind, tidal, nuclear).
