This course deals with principles of teaching and learning: techniques and methods of instruction, preparation of teaching units, and practice in presenting technical and non-technical lessons. After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the teaching and learning process.
- Demonstrate appropriate instructional strategies to teach technology at the secondary level.
- Develop daily lesson plans based on selected technology concepts.
- Develop appropriate learning activities to support the learning process.
- Develop various criterion-referenced test items.
- Discuss strengths and weaknesses of selected management techniques in preventing and solving discipline problems.
- Discuss terminology, requirements, and inclusion of special needs students in technology class.
Students will meet these objectives through lecture and class assignments, which include:
- Class presentations
- Lesson plans
- Reflective teaching assignment
- Teaching video and feedback
